Remote online notarization enhancement: on-demand mortgage closing availability

April 28, 2026

Data shows that today’s borrowers value time savings, convenience and flexibility*. By introducing all-day signing windows for remote online notarization, we’ve even more closely aligned our closing solution to borrowers’ desires.

Here’s what’s new

Instead of selecting a time slot for remote online notarization appointments, lenders or borrowers can now simply select their desired closing date. Borrowers sign onto ServiceLink's closing platform at any time on the selected day to complete their closing with a signing agent, on-demand, that specializes in real estate transactions.

Why it matters

When enabled by lender workflows, the lending team or borrower can even select the very same day – accelerating closing timelines and removing friction from the closing process. When they log on, the borrower will instantly connect with one of ServiceLink's real estate-specialized signing agents to conduct their closing at a time most convenient for them. Our panel’s mortgage expertise facilitates a smooth closing transaction, leaving borrowers with a lasting positive impression of their mortgage experience. Ultimately, this workflow drives scalability and supports faster refinance closings and an accelerated home equity loan closing process.

Where it fits in

This enhancement to scheduling functionality supports ServiceLink’s efforts to ease eClosing implementation for lenders. It complements existing instant in-platform determination of remote closing eligibility, which assesses state and county acceptance requirements and, with lender approval, automatically gives borrowers who are eligible the immediate option to schedule their closing online.

ServiceLink’s closing scheduling solution supports traditional, in-branch and eClosing options. If preferred, exact date and time scheduling remains an option.

How you can get started

This capability is available in RON-eligible states, exclusive of attorney oversight states like Delaware and West Virginia. To begin offering your borrowers flexible closing windows, contact your ServiceLink representative to activate this functionality.
